Automotive Mechanical Engineer Role: Automotive Mechanical Engineer will support the seismic vehicle engineering team The main function will be to design key mechanical systems such as hydraulics, machinery frames, engine packages, cooling systems, HVAC, etc. Will test concepts using computerized modeling or physical models Develop, design, and test all aspects of the seismic vibrator product line Automotive Mechanical Engineer will identify design problems, develop alternative solutions, and work as a team with other engineers Develop test and performance plans on both new prototype and current production vehicles Produce detailed specs using software tools including parts lists and costs Identify new technologies, industry innovations, and partner relationships for future products Performs sustaining activities for existing products The Automotive Mechanical Engineer will create full manufacturing specification packages including engineering BOMs Complete Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and New Part Number Requests (NPRs) Perform project management reporting tasks Meet with internal clients, stakeholders, and liaisons to discuss design concepts Develop real-time ideas and design concepts using Autodesk Inventor software Automotive Mechanical Engineer will identify materials for prototyping, engineering builds, alternatives for supply chain shortages, and manufacturing variants Write and implement engineering processes and procedures.

Automotive Mechanical Engineer Background Profile: Bachelor's degree, ideally in Mechanical Engineering discipline Computer Assisted Design software degree or diploma, required 5 years minimum of Engineering 5 years of field experience as an engineer, technician, or technical support with seismic vibrators is highly preferred Or diesel engine design, mobile vehicle hydraulics design, construction or agricultural equipment design Other preferred comparable skills are product design and support experience with heavy industrial mobile equipment in the construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, military or seismic industries Occasional travel to engineering and production facilities Proficient in using Autodesk Inventor/Vault Skilled in Autodesk AutoCAD 2D Working knowledge of analytical tools such as FEA and/or CFD Skilled in analysis and simulation tools such as Ansys, Nastran, Simcenter Amesim, PTC Mathcad Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and symbols Strong Documentation skills Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
