TriMech is currently hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a client in Huntsville, AL, who has experience supporting the design and engineering of military shelters, shelter accessories, and power generation systems that will be used every day by our brave warfighters and emergency responders. The Mechanical Engineering position will provide engineering drafting, design, and technical support to facilitate the successful development of new systems and products or modifications and revisions to current systems and products.

The Mechanical Engineering position offers a variety of engineering opportunities, including design, analysis, 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and testing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner. Create/edit models and drawings using SolidWorks software.

Create/edit BOMs using SAP software. Provide system and component analysis using FEA/SolidWorks software. Design various components and assemblies.

Assists lab and production personnel with hands-on manufacture, assembly, and inspection of new/revised products (prototypes and first articles). Guide technical activities of designers, technicians, and interns. Adhere to company revision control practices and ISO processes.

Interpret specific system and product design requirements to ensure conformance to functional, customer, and operations/manufacturing criteria. Research, develop, specify, and test materials, methods, and/or processes that enhance product quality, serviceability, and profit. Interface internally with all facility associates, management, and staff.

Interface externally with customers and/or vendors for furnishing, obtaining, and/or clarifying information. Provide engineering program/project technical support to internal and external customers. Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel, the customer, and vendors as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. 3-5 years experience in a similar technical role. Experience with Design For Manufacturing (DFM) principles Effective oral and written communication skills.

SolidWorks proficiency is heavily preferred; other similar experiences are considered. High proficiency in CAD application principles. Fabric or soft goods design experience highly desired.

Military/defense experience preferred. Proven organizational and time management skills. Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.

PC-based computer experience, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential; SAP experience is a plus. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
